Ready for Warmer Weather - Looking Forward to Summer

The winter solstice has passed, and days are beginning to get longer in the northern hemisphere. The solstice also marks the official start of winter, so cold weather is still a reality for many. Our family is actually on a short holiday in Oregon in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Yesterday’s treat was a visit to The Timberline Lodge - probably most famous as the hotel that was used for the outside views of The Overlook Hotel in Stephen King’s movie, “The Shining”. With bright sunshine, the temperature that was just slightly below freezing didn’t seem too bad.

A sunny day on Mount Hood - where winter weather and snow is present year-round

Despite gorgeous scenery and good weather (and after all, it’s all relative!), our thoughts turn to Mijas, and its charms at all times of year. We usually spend the holidays in Mijas, and will miss celebrating the New Year in our adopted home. For now, we satisfy ourselves with planning our return.

It’s not too early to plan your own trip - whether that’s an escape from the winter doldrums, plans for Spring, or thoughts of summer. Be sure to check our opportunities for rentals, and book your escape now.
