Mijas Awaits
/We’re on the brink of April 2020. Normally, everyone would be preparing for Easter - looking forward the the traditions and ceremonies that mark the most important day in Christianity. That also means the beginning of the tourist season in Mijas as people from around Europe and the world look to shake the winter doldrums to enjoy the festivities along with some fine weather.
We fall into that group. We had hoped to be in Mijas at this time, but we are instead following the same precautions in Atlanta (USA) as most of the rest of the world is practicing at this time. Spain has been hit particularly hard, but fortunately at this point there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mijas. Chances are that it will happen, but the village and residents are doing all they can to minimize the risk and potential impacts. For now, we comfort ourselves knowing that this too shall pass. We’re looking forward to a return - to normalcy, and to our beloved Mijas.
